This weekend, at Arc de Triomf – Paseo Lluís Companys in Barcelona, the 7th edition of EXPOELECTRIC is being held with the participation of LIVE. This is southern Europe’s leading event and forum for electric vehicles and the perfect occasion to gain a first-hand insight into everything to do with electric mobility.
At EXPOELECTRIC, all kinds of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids will be on show, conceived to make sustainable mobility much easier for citizens. Visitors will be able to see cars, heavy vehicles, motorcycles, vans, bikes and other types of vehicles that can be tested out in the Test & Drive Zone, run by LIVE.
Anyone wishing to do so can find out first-hand what it feels like to drive one of the new sustainable models at the event*. Register free of charge at LIVE’s stand, just beside the Arc de Triomf and, if you fill in a questionnaire, you will receive a gift in exchange to take home with you!
At least one of the following models will be available to test-drive:
Over the weekend, a series of e-debates will also be held at EXPOELECTRIC where members of the public can clear up any doubts that they might have about zero-emission vehicles. This year, it will take the format of an open forum for the discussion of two main themes: “Electric versus fuel-driven vehicles” and “Electric vehicles and efficient consumption / Subsidies for consumers “. Anyone who wishes to take part can put forward their questions or give their opinions on electric vehicles and a panel of experts, moderated by personalities like Francesc Mauri, will help to clarify the said issues.
At this edition of EXPOELECTRIC, there will be a new type of e-Home: “the efficient home plugged into the electric vehicle”.
This e-Home is an interactive one, where visitors can see how it is powered with solar energy and what energy it receives from the battery of the family’s electric vehicle for its domestic supplies.
The kids will also be able to enjoy different activities, like electric go-karts, Scalextric races or games that teach them the importance of energy saving and sustainable mobility.
In addition to these activities, on Sunday at 11 a.m., an e-concert will be held: a live musical concert as electric vehicles drive around the concert area. At this innovative demonstration – the first of its kind in Europe -, the public will be able to see how a fully electric city offers an improved, quieter, exhaust-free environment.
EXPOELECTRIC is an initiative organized by Catalonia Regional Government via the Catalan Institute for Energy (ICAEN according to its acronym in Catalan), Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Provincial Council, the Barcelona Association of Industrial Engineers (INGENIEROS BCN) and Greater Barcelona Council (AMB), with the collaboration of Catalana Occidente and LIVE.
* To test-drive a vehicle, you must be an adult in possession of a B-type driving licence.
