A large part of society is contemplating changing their car for one that generates less pollution. Among the different options available on the market, today we would like to outline the big advantages of natural gas vehicles (NGV) in comparison with ones fuelled with petrol or diesel.
One of the main virtues of natural gas is its potential use in a broad range of vehicles, whether they are private cars, vans or lorries. Any conventionally fuelled car can also be converted to natural gas by a converter specialist. NGV can be combined with any engine, allowing drivers to choose which fuel they use at a given moment. However, when only natural gas is used, savings of up to 20% can be made in comparison with diesel and up to 50% in comparison with petrol. What is more, emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) are reduced by up to 80% and particulate matter by over 95%, our cities’ two main pollutants. CO2 emissions drop by up to 20% and no SO2 (sulphur dioxide) is emitted. Lastly, it is important to note that the engines of natural gas vehicles make up to 50% less noise and vibrations than a diesel engine.
The differences between this fuel and crude oil by-products all combine to make it a much better choice. Indeed, vehicles powered by natural gas not only boost our environmental awareness, they also help our budgets. There are fewer and fewer reasons not to make the change to a less pollutant form of transport.
