In spite of the difference in prices with respect to motorised motorbikes, electric motorbikes have been well received by the Spanish public, as shown by the figures. During the start of this year, a total of 101% more electric motorbikes have been sold in comparison with the same period last year. During the first two months of the year, a total of 171 electric motorbike number plates were registered, which is eight times more than the sales of electric cars.
According to the statistics, if these sales figures are maintained, the electric motorbikes market share in Spain could reach 5% by 2020. This way, it would become one of the most profitable options for urban mobility due to its low consumption (three times less than fuel motorbikes), easy recharging and battery life.
