Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) are determined to promoted sustainable mobility, helping electric vehicles users to park in their car parks. Thereby, this summer charging points will be installed in car parks of Sant Sant Cugat del Vallès, Sant Quirze del Vallès, Igualada, Martorell i Volpelleres.
Santi Vila, conseller de Territori i Sostenibilitat, ha signat the cooperation agreement with FGC, el Energy Efficiency Cluster (CEEC), Railgrup, Catalan association promoting electric vehicles Volt –Tour and cluster, Simon companies, IMESAPI and Empark that allows to developed this project that facilitates modal exchange.
From a strictly environmental perspective, the project is aligned with existing planning instruments in terms of air quality. First action is part of the Action Plan for the Improvement of Air Quality in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, in particular those relating to the introduction of electric vehicles. At the same time, the project is also in line with the strategy to Promote Electric Vehicles in Catalonia (IVECAT) 2010-2015.
The initiative is an attempt to be replicated and expanded in different parts of the Catalan territory.
