In the field of electric mobility, bikes are those that have experienced higher growth, despite being left out of the aid system. According to the National Association of the Sector of Two Wheels (ASNEDOR) until last September have been sold in Spain 790 electric bikes, up 5% over the same period in 2012 while in the case of motorcycles combustion has been a 21% decrease in sales.
With the objective of enhancing sales of electric two-wheel vehicles, since this 28 of October has returned the plans of aid for the purchase of motorcycles, mopeds and electric bikes with the plan PIMA Aire Plan 2, which coexist with PIVE Plan 4. The grants may be of 600 euros for motorcycles and 350 euros for mopeds in the event that a vehicle is delivered for scrapping or 500 and 300 euros respectively otherwise. In this second edition, the individuals may also benefit from the aid.
Barcelona wanted to keep showing their support for this type of vehicles with the installation of a new charging station for electric bikes in the business school IESE, which is currently operating at full capacity. The charging station has 9 outlets that provide sustainable energy access for 24 hours a day. In this initiative were involved eCooltra Motorcycles, IESE Business School, Barcelona City Council, Iberdrola and Mobecpoint. In addition to this charging station, the city already has 150 charging points for electric bikes.
In the next year, Barcelona will launch various initiatives, such as allowing users of these vehicles to recharge their batteries at renting Bicing bikes stations.[:]
