The Cabinet approved on February 28, PIMA Air Plan 3, an initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Environment which aims to reduce atmospheric emissions and strengthening government policies to the fight against climate change. At the same time, the plan has encouraged the promotion of industry to boost economic activity in Spain.
This new edition came into force on 6 March this year. The beneficiaries will be both individuals and self-employed. It will have a budget of 5.5 million euros, of which 5 million will be allocated to commercial vehicles and the remaining 0.5 mopeds, electric bicycles, electric scooters and hybrid. As has happened in previous years, the PIMA Air Plan 3 is open to expand its initial budget if funds are exhausted.
The plan provides continuity to previous versions, which has been, renewed about 20,000 commercial vehicles. More than 9,000 cars have been replaced by more efficient vehicles, of which 700 are motorcycles, mopeds and electric bicycles. According to data provided by the Ministry, between PIMA Air Plan 1 and PIMA Air Plan 2, it has been reduced 94% of particulate emissions and 15% of CO2 emissions by each replaced car.
